Sophia Loren was an international icon during the mid 1900’s. Born in Naples, she was seen as the most beautiful women in all of Italy once her career as an actress began to take off. Sophia became the face of Italian women creating the image of beauty, elegance, wealth, sensuality, and femininity across the world. She starred in movies both in Italy and in America, becoming a Hollywood star, eventually winning an Oscar. One of her most well-known looks was a silk scarf or foulard wrapped around her neck or head. This inspired Gaia to create a unique collection based on Sophia Loren and the popular style of the 60’s and 70’s. The collections consist of five different colored foulards that can be worn around your neck or wrist. They can either be a solid color or a fun 70’s inspired pattern.
Customers can also customize their foulard with a silver (yellow gold rhodium) and enamel buckle with the initial of your choice. The enamel can be red, black, or white, on the buckle, which slides right onto the foulard. The collection is by far one of the most different collections Spallanzani has done in recent years, showing the new creative direction Gaia Spallanzani has been taking the company in. It portrays beauty and elegance but in a much more refined way just like the iconic Sophia Loren herself.
